Recently, FedEx has launched a new door-to-door delivery service in Australia, mainly targeting international e-commerce imported goods.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Australia will become the first country in the Asia Pacific region to launch a new "My FedEx Delivery" service. The service has been launched in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and the nearby Gold Coast.
Kim Garner, General Manager of FedEx Australia, stated that this service will ensure that consumers can receive their products in one go, giving customers more flexibility and convenience. This service is mainly aimed at international e-commerce orders.
The 'My FedEx Delivery' service is essentially an online delivery management website where recipients can inform the international courier of the time and location they want to receive their goods. According to the product information on the International Express Australia website, on-site delivery service options will include: delivery to another address, delivery date according to customer requirements, providing instructions for the next on-site delivery, and signing for the package in advance.
This service reminds consumers of the "FedEx Delivery Management" service launched in the United States in 2013, which provides more flexibility and control for residential delivery, including advance notification, tracking services, and freight route adjustments for international express ground and express freight. FedEx has not yet launched a similar service for residential delivery in Europe.
